We notice that people update their bedrooms a lot. Beds and wardrobes move around quite a bit. And of course it's fun to buy a new bedspread or comforter every few years. People who are really ambitious will repaint as well.

Mirrors Enlarge Bedrooms While Adding Intimacy
We've written about using mirrors to make smaller bathrooms feel larger and how ceiling-hung mirrors make a classy statement about a room.
In a bedroom, wall mirrors add intimacy while still making the space appear larger. Put a mirror over a bed like this one from our Carolina Crystal collection and you can see how this works:

Don't toss out that old highboy or dresser just yet. A new finish or coat of paint can bring it back to life - and so can a new set of knobs or pulls for the drawers or cabinet doors.

Wall-Mounted Votive Candle Holders
Lastly, we suggest one or two wall-mounted candle holders - perhaps one on each side of the bed to create soft, romantic light?
Our brass candle holders safely burn votive-sized candles. The hardware is made from brass, of course, and each piece includes a thick glass container that easily lifts out from the holder.
